More Dragons

Stormbringer is back with a couple more brilliant MOCs to add to his collection inspired by Dreamwork's How To Train Your Dragon. This time around is the Hideous Zippleback and the Monstrous Nightmare. I especially like the design of the eyes, very clever.

Patton

It's classic cinema, George C. Scott as Patton. This brick-built tribute to a cinematic tribute to a great military leader is excellent. I especially like the careful attention to details like the medals on his chest and his riding crop. Well done mmbace.

The Great Devourer

Pokemon was big at my house once upon a time. I never really got into it, but both of my boys sure did. I did think Cubone was pretty cool looking, and I always hated Mr. Mime, he just looked stupid. I can't say I recall this particular Pokemon by Legohaulic, but I know there's been many more added since we were attempting to "catch em all". Then again, this isn't from Pokemon, so that explains a lot. What do you mean there's no Pokemon in Ninjago?

Kili

Pate Keetongu is back with another dwarf to add to his Hobbit collection. This time around it's Kili, brother of Fili and nephew to Thorin Oakenshield. As with all the previously built MOCs, this one is loaded with detail and faithful to the movie.

Sir Not Appearing In This Film (MaxiFig Edition)

If you saw the latest episode of BrickNerd (you did didn't you?) then you got to see me open a one of Adam Monostori's awesome custom Minifigures based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Iain Heath was so taken with Sir Not Appearing In This Film he created a MaxiFig scale version of him. The detail and accuracy is uncanny. By the way, these are a project on LEGO Ideas which needs your support. Head over and bump this thing, we all NEED these.

Update On The Fugitive Dorothy Gale

The fugitive Dorothy Gale and her four accomplices continue their relentless march down the yellow brick road. Wanted in connection with the death of Gingema Wickedelle, Miss Gale fled Munchkinland toward the Emerald City. Seen here in this file photo is Tinman Rustjaw, S. Carecrow, C. Howard Lion as well as her trained attack dog Toto. This group should be considered extremely dangerous, notify authorities immediately if you have any information.

Kick Buttowski

Kick Buttowski, just your average everyday suburban daredevil. He fears nothing, except maybe the scorn of his older brother. This version by Guilherme Lima looks ready to shred. I dig the chunky style and beefy part use.

Isn't That Cute...Wait, What?

So, the first thing you looked at was the cute crab right? Brightly colored with big eyes and an adorable pose, it's eye catching. Then you looked to the right and thought "now what the heck is...oh". It's awesome and gruesome in one post, well played Legohaulic, well played.

Ludo

Jim Henson has been on my mind a lot lately. With the Creature Shop Challenge on Sy-Fy I find myself thinking back fondly on not only my time in creature effects, but also on some of my favorite movies of all time. Ludo here from Labyrinth was an amazing character, larger than life with a heart of gold. This version by Centuri is a pretty fitting tribute.

Thwack!

Chameleons are fascinating creatures. I mean think about it, they change colors, have independent eyes, can hit a target 1.5 times it's length away with it's tongue and has the craziest hands and feet. They also make excellent models as demonstrated by Littlehaulic here.

Batman

I really like this version of Batman from MortalSwordsman. The contouring, color selection and pose-ability are really impressive, with simple broad-stroke shapes and just enough detail to sell it. The bat shaped base completes it, but the head is my favorite part.

Mushu

This is phenomenal. You all know I have a weakness for Disney and characters and this is absolutely stunning. From the clever techniques, to the color use, to the posing, it's just perfect. I especially like the use of new parts like the teeth and the eyes, love it!

Life-size Hatsune Miku

Chinese builder CHAOSBRICK has built pretty much the ultimate anime girl, a life-sized Hatsune Miku. I'm afraid I can't read Chinese, and Google translate's version of this page is as amusing as it is confusing, so I can't provide many more details. But click through for some cool work-in-progress pics.

This MOC Is Just Right

Not too big, not too small, It's just right. SlyOwl's Goldilocks and the Three Bears is sculptural perfection. There's a lot of very clever building here, check out Papa Bear's shoes for instance, you'd swear they were just regular old shoes, brilliant.

Totally Tubular!

EXT BEACH - DAY

Simon Surfwax, a young brash surfer type approaches an older man holding an inner tube, ready for some fun in the water. Simon can't help but notice what the man is wearing, a very old fashioned bathing suit. He plants his board in the sand and snickers.

Simon

Whoa dude, totally radical knickers you got there

Older Man

These aren't knick...oh, my bathing attire.
I was assured this was the proper dress.

Simon

You gotta be a total babe magnet in those threads, eh bro?

The older man is taken aback and confused, he studies himself and looks carefully at his inner tube. For the first time we notice there is something slightly odd about what's visible through the hole in the middle, a strange distortion, almost like shimmering heat off a hot paved road. The old man looks back at Simon. 

Older Man

What does magnetism have to do with this?

Simon has had his fun, he smiles sarcastically and grabs his board. With a dismissive wave he trots off down to the water. The older man stands puzzled for a moment, then sighs.

Older Man

Clearly more calibration is needed.

With that he bends down and begins to crawl through the hole in his TIME PORTAL as he does, space/time bends around him. And with a flash and a pop, he disappears.

Otto

If you have the bricks and have a wish
You may need to build yourself a fish

And in a bowl you can place your fish
Because fish don't live on a dish

But you won't need water in the bowl
So exercise self-control

And if fish are not your pet of choice

Anubis

I personally think the ancient Egyptians might have been on to something with their worship of anthropomorphized dogs and cats and stuff. Take Anubis here, part man, part Jackal, all badass (and a stunning MOC by The Deathly Halliwell). It makes me wonder what form my Corgis would take, they're already funny looking. They could be the gods of mirth and stubby legs. Although I'm pretty sure my cats are plotting to kill me, so I better start worshiping them too.

MS Girl: Tantive IV Gundam 2

OK, bear with me here, this takes a little explanation. There's this Gundam sub-theme where you imagine cute anime girls wearing your favorite mobile suit as armor. But Kevin Ryhal has taken this to the next level by going Star Wars with it. So this is an anime version of Leia wearing the Tantive IV as armor, get it? And if that's all just too much to wrap your head around, hey look cleavage!

Transforming Gameboy Advance

Julius von Brunk is back with another stellar Nintendo Transformers mashup. This time it's the venerable Gameboy Advance transforming into Vantage. I have no idea if Vantage is a real Transformer, but I vividly remember by Gameboy Advance. In fact, I modified mine with a front light so it was even more awesome.
