Captain Carrot Ironfoundersson

Master character builder Pate-keetongu is back with another marvelous character from Discworld. And of course I still haven't read the books so I really can't say very much about that aspect. What I can say is this is a fantastic character build. The combination of the silver armor and dark red cape and tunic is very regal. Read more about him on Eero's website.

Making Donald Drumpf Again.

As a rule political posts are avoided on BrickNerd, but since I don't really consider Donald a politician, I think I can break this rule. This caricature by Suck My Brick perfectly captures everyone's least favorite rage-filled creamsicle, and he has an important message to share. To paraphrase "it's been a few laughs, but it's time to end this circus". Click through for the full message.

Get Away From Her You...

Who can ever forget that first time you saw Aliens and the queen showed up at the end (spoilers?) After the first 90% of the movie that was already like riding a rollercoaster with your hair on fire holding a rabid cat this baby pops out of the drop ship and you soil your seat. Well now Sir Nadroj has build a brick version of her and she's a beauty. May I suggest a power suit and Ripley next? Has to be done Jordan, get to work.

Commander Shepard

Builder Nick Brick is generally known for his awesome video game and movie inspired weapons and props, but as you can see from this excellent figure, he's got character chops too. Of course this lovely lady is from a video game as well, it's Commander Shepard from Mass Effect. And of course I only know this because I googled it, since I never get to play games any more.

The Beholder

This made my heart go pitter patter. Not just because I'm a fan of all things geek, but because it's from a dear friend who hasn't been building much lately (but has certainly been making lots of cool stuff!), and It always makes me happy to see the work of friends. Behold the Beholder, from Guy Himber. Making great use of those Mixel eyes and being all monstery, I dig it.

The Merc With A Mouth

Deadpool continues to smash box-office records (I saw it, it's awesome!) and of course he's always been a popular subject with builders and cosplayers so he's been in my flickr feed in numerous forms the last few weeks. But very few of those MOCs have caught my attention as much as this figure from nobu_tary. The pose, posture, styling and detail on this figure is top-notch. And the use of the axe blades for the eyes is sheer brilliance.

Foraois

Builder Pate-keetongu finishes up his "four seasons" project with this stunning beauty, Foraois (Forest in Irish). She represents summer, not tanning butter and convertibles summer, but nature. Her color scheme is directly inspired by the birch tree, with the white dress being the bark and her black arms being the branches. The cascade of greenery is my favorite part of this piece, and adds life and motion to it.

Plumbers On A Mission

I've played Mario and his brother in many of their adventures. The stand outs are Super Mario 64 and Luigi's Mansion of course, but there's been a lot of mischief these plumbers have gotten into. Interestingly enough, Mario actually started as a carpenter, and he only had a mustache because the limited pixel graphics of the age made it difficult to make faces. But even with the limited ABS voxels of today, builder 2 Much Caffeine managed to perfectly capture these two intrepid turtle stompers.

Leisure Suit Larry

A perfect evening for me and the future Mrs BrickNerd in the late 80's early 90's would be a yummy dinner, some pretzel sticks and ranch dip and a classic adventure game. The one that inspired this brilliant MOC by Vitreolum was one of our favorites, Leisure Suit Larry. The whole point of the game was to try and get poor hapless Larry a little bit of action, and it wasn't easy, but it sure was funny.

Governor Swann

It can't be easy being the father of a beautiful girl with a preoccupation with pirates. Everyone's always trying to kidnap her, or falling in love with her, or she's off becoming a pirate herself, it's gotta be stressful. Add to that the need to wear a silly wig because of your position and status, it's a wonder Governor Swann didn't go completely mad. Nice build Legopard.

"That Is The Ugliest Thing I Have Ever Saw"

We're big fans of Lilo and Stitch here at my house. I've seen or heard the movie countless times. I say heard because we have two boys and a Honda Odyssey with a DVD player, I listened to more movies than I saw for many years. Stitch is also a favorite character for all of us, and this version by Takamichi Irie captures his essence perfectly. Nice photo and edit by willgalb too!

Battle Droid

I'm no fan of the prequels, that's no secret, but there are a few things I like from those three flicks which I usually try to pretend didn't happen. Despite being dumb as a crate of blasters and comically easily dispatched, I kinda like the battle droids, especially brick-built battle droids and this version by umamen is one of the best I've seen.

Arrgg! Raving Rabbids

Me and Rayman go way back. I have fond memories playing on my customized Gameboy Advance (I hacked a front light into it). When Rayman 4 came out he had a new nemesis, Rabbids, who turned out to be so popular they ended up being a franchise on their own. Here we see them in one of their numerous natural habitats, a pirate ship, brilliantly recreated by builder bricks.life.idea
