Borderlands 2 Collaborative

Collaborative builds, especially on this scale, are hard to cover and do justice to the MOCs. After months of work, the builder group GamerLUG (Nick Brick, Lego Junkie, Si-MOCsDR.ChurchMasked BuilderAlec_DEdgelessAbyss) combined forces to present a show stopping and trophy winning Borderlands 2 display. As much as I'd like to feature every individual MOC, there's just not enough time, so I'll invite you to visit all these builders' individual Flickr streams and check out the video.

Two-Face

Visitors of Brickworld Chicago got to see this (as well as many more) in person, and I'll admit to a slight tinge of jealously. Tim Lydy's Batman collection was one of the highlights of the show, and looking at Two-Face here I can see why. The sculpture work is amazing, but it's also oozing with character. I can't wait to see the rest of these.

Bobbajo

One of the things that got people so hyped for The Force Awakens was the promised return to a more practical approach to filmmaking, real sets, real costumes, real creatures. This guy was one of the first alien life forms we saw in a video shared by JJ during production, and we all went nuts. Now Takamichi Irie has built him in brick, and we can all go nuts again.

Winston

Overwatch mania continues to sweep the world, and the AFOL community. I actually recognize this beast of a character, which is pretty unusual for me these days. When we picked up our preordered copy of the game at GameStop my son got a figure of this guy, a jet pack sporting gorilla named Winston. By the way, any day you can type the sentence "jet pack sporting gorilla" is a good day.

Bastion & Reinhardt

Overwatch mania continues to sweep the world, and AFOLs are clearly not immune. Builder Si-MOCs brings us not one but two characters from the phenomenally popular Blizzard game. And of course I still haven't seen anything from it. But judging from all the yelling in the back of the house it's exciting and/or frustrating. And based on the smell back there, it's addicting too.

Tracer

A great deal of time and energy is being expended towards the new game Overwatch at my house these days. Not by me of course (like I have time to play games) but both my boys are into it and have barely left their rooms for over a week. I consulted with one of my experts and discovered this swift little vixen is pretty much the face of Overwatch, and if you're the lumbering armored type, good luck hitting her, she's quick. Nice build One More Brick.

Adela

Builder Pate-keetongu is back with another gorgeous vixen. Meet Adela, who's motivations are mysterious, but beauty is undeniable. And just as lovely as this build is it's also impressive from a number of standpoints including technique and pose-ability. Eero also has a lot of the story behind the build and decisions made during it on his newly revamped website, I recommend giving it a read.

All Gave Some, Some Gave All

Every country likes to rattle it's saber, and humans have been squabbling over resources and wealth since we figured out how to walk upright. The governments declare the wars, and their men and women pay the price. This stirring MOC by vir-a-cocha illustrates this all too well, but also has a second more important message, about finding beauty and overcoming circumstances. I can't be easy to carry an accordion with crutches, but this scrappy vet was up to the challenge, and now he can play a little music, for everyone's enjoyment.

Diana Of Themyscira

There's a lot of inspired building in this version of Wonder Woman by ToaLeewan. It seems super simple at first, but that's only because it's so clean. I'm sure we're going to be seeing a lot more of this lovely lady now that she's got her own movie in the works. And if we can just keep Zack Snyder from sinking his mediocre claws into it, it might be good.

Knight

I've always found it fascinating that not so long ago in the grand scheme of things men would wrap themselves in hugely heavy, constricting metal armor, put on a hot and uncomfortable helmet that restricted their vision, and go out and try to kill each other. Can you imagine standing there with your sharpened metal stick while this badass by nobu_tary came charging at you? I'd soil my armor.

That Is One Angry Duck

If I had to choose a single word to describe Disney's venerable anti hero and the original angry bird Donald Duck, it would be "flappable". Not only is it sort of a fun play on words, even if Donald doesn't technically have wings, but we all know what a ticking time bomb of fury he is. This version by Djokson pretty much nails that side of his character.

Sugar, Spice, And Everything Nice...

...These were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect little girls
But Professor Utonium accidentally added an extra ingredients to the concoction...
Chemical X
Thus, The Powerpuff Girls were born!
Using their ultra-super powers, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup
Have dedicated their lives to fighting crime and the forces of evil!

I am not ashamed to admit I have this track on my iPod. I'm also not ashamed to admit I really dig this MOC by madoruk.

Nemesis Prime

Not being a huge Transformers fan I needed to do a quick Google search before I posted this and learned that Nemesis Prime, here depicted with supreme skill by builder MortalSwordsman, is an evil clone of Optimus Prime, having most of his abilities but lacking his moral compass. I also learned that he hates Christmas. So not only can he disguise himself as a truck, transform and wreak havoc, but he's also got something against Santa, what a jerk.

Phantom

I am as eternally mystified by Moko as I am impressed. Usually it's because I haven't heard of the character before so it requires a little research, and since his blog posts are in Japanese I have to depend on Chrome to translate so I can sort of guess what's going on. This usually results in some unintended humor as well, this is my favorite passage today...

"Since Bionicle greed was filled some time Do not (laughs) or I can not made ecause too much detour if not soon return to the Big O production."

...anyway, check out this absolutely badass and remarkably posable figure by one of my favorite builders.
